Regulating a DC power supply with capacitors?
Why, when using capacitors to regulate a DC power supply, does is it better if you place the capacitors near an IC in the circuit rather than anywhere in the circuit? Surely it shouldn't make a difference just as long as the capacitor is in there?
Capacitors do not regulate. Decouple is the term to use.
